Cross-training technique – for better health

This came from a Stanford University evening lecture by the head of psychiatry . A lecture on the mind-body connection and the relationship between stress and disease.

He said, ” One of the best things a man can do for his health is to be married to a woman “….and… ” One of the best things a woman can do for her health is to NURTURE her relationships with her girlfriends………..first of all………women ‘share their feelings’. They seem to connect with their girlfriends. Which provides support systems that help each other to deal with stress and difficult life experiences. And men, they form relationships around actiivties.

Let’s turn that around…….’the best thing you can do for your health is to nurture your relationships with your friends…..why?….this quality ‘friend time’ helps you to create more SEROTONIN – a neurotransmitter that helps combat depression and creates a general feeling of well-being.


Thing to Do :   Share your feelings. Share from your soul with your friends (very good for your health)

Hang out with friends. Hang out and schmooze with a pal

Create and maintain quality personal relationships with other humans…..great cross-training!!!

FACT :  SPENDING TIME WITH A FRIEND(S) is just as important to our general health as running trails or working out at a gym. – productive use of your time


Thing to Do :   toast your friendships in your life – they help you stay healthy, happy and feeling very loved
